Appeal to find owner after bully-type dog bites man on arm

Police want to find the owner of a large bully-type dog after a man was bitten on the arm.

The incident happened on Three Tuns Wynd, in Stokesley, between 2.30pm and 3pm on Friday, December 22.

The victim, who is aged his mid-60s and from Guisborough, had to seek medical treatment after the dog attacked him as he walked past.

The dog was on a lead at the time and is described as a large white bully-type breed with tan patches on its body and head.

The man walking the dog is described as white, aged about 70, tall, frail-looking with long grey hair.

He was wearing a long grey overcoat, possibly made from tweed.

Police are appealing for the owner of the dog or anyone who knows him to come forward as soon as possible.
