North Yorkshire Council has approved plans for the final phase of a housing development in Northallerton.
Housebuilder Persimmon has been given the go ahead to build the remaining properties on the North Northallerton housing development.
38 more homes will be built ranging from one bed through to three-bed detached houses.
The developers says the homes will be zero carbon ready and benefit from improved energy efficiency, helping reduce energy bills for homeowners.
All homes will come fitted with electric vehicle chargers and solar panels.
It is claimed the site will provide a ten per cent net gain overall in biodiversity value and includes public open space for residents.
As part of planning approvals for the development, Persimmon has contributed around £1 million to the local authority to go towards local education provision and transport infrastructure.
This funding has contributed towards the building of a new bridge over the railway connecting Darlington Road and Stokesley Road.
Sean Taylor, managing director of Persimmon Teesside, said: “We’re delighted that North Yorkshire Councillors have granted approval for the final phase of our development in Northallerton.
“With the shortage of housing rightly high up the political agenda, we’re pleased to be able to help local homebuyers in and around Northallerton find their perfect new home.”
