Former Bedale High School student Katie Kitching made her international football debut on Sunday.
Katie came on in the second half for New Zealand against Colombia in Bogotá in front of 20,000 spectators in the Estadio El Campin Stadium.
The match ended 0-0.
On Wednesday she came on again with Colombia winning a close game 1-0.
After a round trip of 10,500 miles, Katie could be back to play for Sunderland Women who host Durham Ladies at Eppleton Colliery Welfare Ground in the Adobe Women’s FA Cup on Sunday at 2pm.
The match could see her face another former Bedale High School student, Lily Crosthwaite, who plays for Durham.
