A young angler has been selected to fish for England.
Jack Blakey, who lives near Northallerton and attends Richmond School, has become a member of the England Youth Fly Fishing Team which competed against other home nations in Wales recently.
The England team of 15 took part in the event at Llyn Clywedog, a reservoir in mid Wales, last month.
The 12-year-old has been fishing for the last five years.
Dad Stewart said: “Jack loves his fishing and is one of the youngest members of the team which has kids from 12 to 17.
“We travel all over for Jack and his love of fishing.
“Last year’s international was in Ireland so we as a family travelled with him to support him and the England Youth Fly Fishing team.
“The team are always looking for sponsors and doing various fund raisers to keep the team going.”
Jack ties his own flies and also uses those made by his sponsor, professional angler Craig Barr.
