Firefighters were called out yesterday after smoke was spotted in a field.
The incident at Ellerbeck near Northallerton was reported at about 6.30pm.
A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue service: Northallerton were mobilised to smoke sighted in a field.
“This was found to be controlled burning. Crews gave advice to the landowner.”
