A team of young mathematicians from Stokesley School have been crowned champions at a competition hosted by Teesside University.
A team of four into the Maths Feast competition held at the university and run by the government funded Advanced
Mathematics Support Programme.
The contest aims to be is a fun and educational challenge for Year 10 students which tests their problem solving skills and teamwork.
A total of 19 secondary schools from across the area took part and Stokesley School achieved first place.
The school’s team members, Jack Passman, Rosie Neville, Zoe Martin and Hassan Akram worked together to be crowned champions with a final score of 88/100.
Mr Alcock, head of mathematics at Stokesley School, said: “I am thrilled with the final result and so proud of the winning team’s achievement.
“Each student played their part by working together utilising all their mathematical skills for victory”.
Headteacher, Mrs Millett added: “Maths has always been a strength at Stokesley School & Sixth Form College but these students have taken it to a whole new level.
“We are exceptionally proud of what they have achieved and grateful to them for representing our school so fantastically well.”
