A Northallerton hotel has closed after insolvency proceedings were launched against the company it is owned by.
Customers with bookings at the Allerton Court Hotel have received emails cancelling their booking and stating the hotel closed on March 24.
The email says they have no option to rebook but will get a refund if they have paid a deposit.
A spokesperson at the hotel confirmed this morning that the hotel had shut.
The hotel is owned by Minories G Limited.
Information on Companies House, which holds details on all limited companies, states that the firm has entered voluntary liquidation and is set to be wound up.
Harrisons Business Recovery and Insolvency has been appointed to handle the process.
In October last year, Minories applied to turn the restaurant at the Northallerton hotel into a sports bar to serve both residents and non-residents of the venue.
Plans were also submitted to turn the function room into a gym and studio space, again for use by guests and the wider public.
A small extension to the building was included in the proposal.
Plans to build a drive-thru Starbucks coffee shop in the hotel’s car park have also been approved by planners, although work has not started on the development.
