Northallerton’s £12m link road is set to open next month, says Richmond MP Rishi Sunak.
Work was due to start on the road, which connects the routes to Darlington and Stokesley, in 2017 and the road to be completed in 2019.
However, work did not actually start until 2020.
Frustration has grown in the town due to the delays and the fact that the road now appears to be finished but has still not opened.
Richmond MP Rishi Sunak says he has been told the link road will finally open on Friday, December 16.
He said: “Many constituents have expressed their concern to me about the delay and the lack of an explanation for the delays.
“I am pleased the developers and their partners have identified all the remaining works, have agreed a schedule and provided the proposed opening date.
“With the growth of Northallerton this is an important improvement in its infrastructure which will benefit both road users and residents of the town.”
