Staff from the Friarage Hospital are set to swap their scrubs for the latest fashion trends in a bid to raise money for the hospital they work in.
Our Hospitals Charity, the charitable arm of the Friarage Hospital and South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, has teamed up with local department store Barkers to throw a fundraising fashion show.
As well as featuring a number of local NHS workers, Emmerdale’s Chris Chittell will also be taking to the catwalk along with former ITV presenter Pam Royle and local business woman Blondie Baker.
All the money raised from the show, at The Golden Lion Hotel Northallerton on Thursday 7 April at 7pm, will go towards exciting new developments at the Friarage Hospital.
Tickets are £20 and can be purchased from Barkers of Northallerton, The Golden Lion Hotel or via Our Hospitals Charity – Ourhospitalscharity@nhs.net or 01642 854160.
Lisa Meehan, Our Hospitals Charity fundraising manager, said: “It’s an honour to be hosting a fashion show with Barkers of Northallerton in aid of the Friarage Hospital.
“We were extremely lucky to have Barkers, who have been such a big part of our local community since 1882, as one of our corporate partners.
“It’s going to be a fantastic night, the VIP tickets have already sold out. As well as having some extra special models showcasing Barkers’ beautiful clothes there will also be an auction with live entertainment from Freedom Disco and local saxophonist, Alan Owens.”
Jane Hunter, Barker’s fashions and shoes buyer, said: “We are delighted to be working with such a fantastic charity to support our local hospital.
“We’re really looking forward to a brilliant evening and raising funds for our much loved Friarage Hospital.”
