Officers are currently at the scene of a serious collision in Great Ayton.
Thew town’s High Street has been closed following the incident.
A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police said: “The road is closed for the foreseeable future whilst emergency services respond.
“Motorists and members of the public are asked to avoid the areas and please seek alternative routes until further notice.”
