A group of shoplifters dumped their vehicle after failing to stop for police.
Police spotted the vehicle after help from Hambleton CCTV operators on Tuesday.
Officers say the occupants were believed to have been shoplifting in Northallerton.
The vehicle failed to stop and the suspects ran off.
The vehicle was searched and a number of items believed to have been stolen were found.
These included nicotine replacement products, razors and electric toothbrushes.
Police are appealing for any stores in Northallerton who believe they were taken from their premises to call 101, quoting incident number: 12220001831.
