Covid cases in Hambleton have risen sharply in recent days with more positive tests recorded than at any point during the pandemic.
In the seven days to December 31, there were 1,210 cases reported in the district.
Separate localised data shows that in the seven days to December 29 there were the following number of recorded cases:
- 180 in Easingwold and Stillington
- 154 in Northallerton
- 109 in Rudby and Ingleby
- 109 in Great Ayton and Stokesley
- 96 in Thirsk South and Coxwold
- 85 in Linton, Tollerton & Raskelf Hambleton
- 83 in Leeming, Pickhill & Thornton Hambleton
- 78 in Bedale and Snape
- 72 in Northallerton South and Leeming Bar
- 71 in Thirsk North
The seven-day rate of 1,321 per 100,000 people is the highest yet.
However, the rate is still below the average for North Yorkshire, which is 1,415 and for the national average of 1,599.
Covid vaccine clinics resume at Tennants in Leyburn this week.
All clinics are walk in with no appointment needed.
The clinics will be held on the following dates and times:
- Wednesday 5 January 2022 – 8.30am to 5pm
- Friday 7 January 2022 – 8.30am to 5pm
- Wednesday 12 January 2022 – 8.30am to 5pm
- Friday 14 January 2022 – 8.30am to 5pm
- Saturday 15 January 2022 – 8.30am to 5pm
Anyone aged 16 and 17 can attend any clinic for a first or second dose (second dose no sooner than 12 weeks after the first dose)
Anyone aged 18 and over can attend any clinic for a first, second or booster dose (second dose no sooner than 8 weeks after the first dose / booster no sooner than 12 weeks after second dose)
Anyone aged 12 to 15 can attend the Saturday clinic for a first dose.
If you’re under 18 and have recently had Covid you need to wait 90 days before having a covid vaccine.
If you’re 18 and over and have recently had Covid you need to wait 28 days before having a covid vaccine.
If you are awaiting the results of a Covid PCR test you must not attend any clinic until you receive a negative result.
