Signal has been restored after a loss from a temporary transmitter erected at Bilsdale to replace a mast damaged by fire.

Arqiva, which operates the site, had reported that there was no service on many channels which get their signal from the mast.

However, it said in an update: “We are aware of a brief outage at the temporary Bilsdale Mast during the very powerful effects of Storm Barra; engineers have (2.50pm) now restored the service.”

Viewers were asked not to retune their TVs.

The temporary mast was switch on in October following the fire in August.
