A second case of bird flu has been found in Hambleton.
Defra said avian influenza H5N1 was confirmed in birds at a premises near Thirsk on Sunday.
Further testing is underway to confirm the pathogenicity of the strain.
A Government spokesperson said all birds on the infected premises would be humanely culled.
A temporary control zone covering 3km (1.8 miles) and 10km (6.2 miles) is in place around the site.
An Avian Influenza Prevention Zone (AIPZ) has been in place nationally since November 3, following the discovery of a strain of the virus in a small poultry unit in Warwickshire.
Earlier this month a protection zone was put in place around a site at Leeming Bar, after birds there were confirmed as having the virus.
Defra said the H5N1 virus was found at premises near Leeming Bar, Bedale, on Saturday, November 13.
Defra said further testing was under way and that all birds at the site would be humanely culled.
