Detectives have arrested a 22-year-old local man in connection with a serious assault in Thirsk.
The incident occurred near Thirsk Industrial Estate at around 5.35pm on Monday, November 1.
The victim, a 32-year-old man from the Thirsk area, remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition.
Officers made the arrest this afternoon and the man is being held in custody for questioning.
A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police said: “This follows a very positive response to previous appeals for information and officers thank the members of the public who have come forward so far.
“They would still like to hear from anyone who has information but has not yet spoken to them, including motorists with dash-cam footage or residents who have doorbell or CCTV camera footage along York Road.”
