Firefighters were called to a car on fire in a field overnight.
The incident happened at Boltby, near Thirsk,
The Thirsk fire crew was called at around 12.30am this morning.
They extinguished the fire using knapsacks after it had been set alight deliberately.
A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “Police attended and spoke with some males in the vicinity prior to an additional two vehicles arriving, believed to be associated with them.
“They all then left the scene.”
