Firefighters called to Great Ayton kitchen after cooking left on hob

Firefighters attended a smoke filled kitchen after cooking was left unattended in Great Ayton yesterday.

A crew from Stokesley, as well as colleagues from Cleveland Fire Brigade, were called to the incident in Hollygarth Close at 4.10pm.

Firefighters gained access through an open kitchen window, removed a pan left unattended on a kitchen hob, and turned the cooker off.

The house was then ventilated by a positive pressure fan just as the occupant arrived home.
