North Yorkshire libraries offer help to learner drivers

North Yorkshire libraries have launched a digital service that enables people to practise their theory skills before the big day.

Officials say Theory Test Pro is a highly realistic online simulation of the UK’s driving theory test.

It contains the official practice test question bank, hazard perception video clips and an online version of the Highway Code.

All this material is licensed from the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA), the people who set the tests.

Library members will be able to access all the content, free, from home using their own device or they can visit the library and use the free public computers.

Theory Test Pro is one of the latest additions to North Yorkshire County Council library service’s broad digital offer to support, inform and entertain their members.

Cllr Greg White, executive member for libraries, said: “The library service provides an extensive suite of resources, from e-books to encyclopaedias, magazines to business start-up guides.

“Over the past year, it has responded to the challenges posed by the pandemic to further develop and deliver an excellent online service to the people of North Yorkshire.

“Theory Test Pro is a valuable addition, enabling people to get the most from the driving test study by testing and honing their knowledge at home or at their local library.”
