An impressive set of speakers is lined up to address Hambleton’s first virtual business week.
The district council’s annual conference is being held remotely as a result of the ongoing Covid-19 restrictions – but that is not putting delegates off.
Already almost 90 have signed up for the event, and it’s still two weeks away.
Hambleton Business Week is being held at the district’s innovative new business centre, C4DI – its official opening on May 11 will mark the start of the three day event.
The digital hub, based in Northallerton’s new Treadmills development, is focused on helping tech companies grow and traditional businesses innovate within the agriculture, food processing and digital sector.
The 2021 business conference – on May 12 – will focus on growing the Hambleton economy through digital technology to support the high streets, market towns and traditional businesses.
It will give insights into sustainable supply chains and the circular economy and how they can boost business.
Kate Hardcastle MBE will deliver a keynote speech on the ‘Digital High Street’. Also speaking on May 12 are Amanda Lindsay from human resources consultancy, 2hbr and Matthew Hopkinson from Didobi.
Day three will look at the traditional high street with speakers from the York and North Yorkshire Local Enterprise Partnership, the University of Sunderland and York College.
The two educational institutions have just joined forces with the District Council to create an ecampus in Northallerton.
Senior district councillors will also speak at the event
Businesses can book places at the conference by logging on to c4di.live.
All the sessions are free – speaker information and the programme will be updated as they are confirmed.
