A hospital charity is appealing for fundraisers to spread the love this Valentine’s Day by sending a virtual message of love and hope to NHS colleagues.
Valentine’s Day is usually associated with declarations of love, cards and flowers, but South Tees Hospitals Charity hopes donors will also show their affection and appreciation for hard-working NHS staff at the James Cook University Hospital, Friarage Hospital and at South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust’s community services by sending in a message about why you love the NHS.
Donors can say ‘thank you’, say why they love the NHS or provide morale boosting messages of support to the trust’s incredible NHS workers from just £2.
The messages will be displayed on a large blue heart at either the Friarage Hospital in Northallerton or The James Cook University Hospital, in Middlesbrough.
Ben Murphy, head of South Tees Hospitals Charity, said: “It has been a difficult start to 2021, but we have the perfect opportunity for you to show our hardworking NHS colleagues that you care.
“Sending in a message of love to our NHS workers is easy and quick to do and will provide the little pick-me-up our staff may need to spur them on during such challenging times.
“The public have been with us every step of the way during the coronavirus pandemic, which is truly humbling and we are now looking forward to seeing our hospital lit up with blue hearts of well wishes.”
All funds raised from the Valentine’s appeal will help to boost the charity which raises funds to provide those special added extras to improve care for more than one million people across our region.
