Van sets on fire after flammable liquid poured into vents

A van set on fire after a flammable liquid was poured into its air vents.

Polcie are appealing for informatin after the incident in Water End, Brompton, near Northallerton.

The vandalism occurred between 7pm on Sunday, July 12 and 7.30am on Monday, July 13.

A police spokesperson said: “A flammable liquid has been poured into the air vents of the van which has subsequently ignited causing fire damage to the surrounding paintwork and engine bay.”
