A stolen quadbike has been found in the back of a van travelling on the A1(M).
The vehicle was stopped near Boroughbridge on Sunday.
The driver was arrested after police checks discovered that the quad had been stolen in the Yorkshire Dales in July last year.
A passenger in the van was also arrested after it was found he was already wanted by police.
He initially gave false details but admitted his identity after police used a roadside fingerprint scanner to check.
He was further arrested after quantity of cannabis was found in the vehicle.
The two occupants of the van, and the driver of another vehicle travelling with the van, were also given penalty notices for breaching Covid-19 regulations.
