A man suffered a minor burn after fire spread from weeds to a house yesterday.
Two crew from Northalelrton and one from Bedale were called to the incident at Morton-on-Swale at 1.09pm.
North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said the fire spread from weeds, to a hedge, then to a shed, before reaching a house.
The property’s garage was badly damage in the blaze and the house suffered moderate damage to the roof.
Firefighters used a first aid gel pack to treat a man who had suffered a minor burn.
The crews used four hosereels, three breathing apparatus, triple extension ladder, small tools, and a thermal imaging camera.
The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental.
Property was fitted with two smoke alarms, both of which activated.
