Police are appealing for information following a burglary at Yafforth near Northallerton.
It is believed the incident took place sometime between 8.45am and 8.55am on Thursday.
Police say jewellery was stolen during the break-in.
A spokesperson for North Yorshire Police added: “We would like to reassure the community that we are working to identify the person or people responsible and would appeal to anyone who was in the area and noticed anything suspicious to contact the police.
“Your information will be looked at thoroughly and could really help our enquiries.”
