A man who died in a crash near Bedale has been named.
Petru Leizeriuc, 48, from Snape, near Bedale, died when the black Seat Ibiza he was driving left a the road and hit a tree.
The accident happened between Bedale and Snape, known as Kings Keld Bank.
Mr Leizeriuc died at the scene from his injuries.
An inquest into the death was opened and adjourned on October 11 at Northallerton.
Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision, or who saw the Seat Ibiza prior to the collision, to contact them.
They would particularly like to speak to anyone who may have captured dash cam footage.
