Disability football sessions are heading to Northallerton later this month.
As part of its inclusive sport programme to encourage people to be more physically active, Hambleton District Council is hosting three disability football taster sessions.
If the sessions are popular regular sessions may be added to the programme to complement the already popular Walking Football sessions hosted by Age UK.
Parents, carers and supporters are welcome to attend. All sessions are wheelchair friendly and can be adapted to meet the needs of each individual.
There are 9.4 million people in England with a long-standing limiting disability, illness or condition which equates to 18 per cent of the population – almost one in five.
The Football Association believes that there should be flexible, inclusive and accessible playing opportunities for everyone, whatever their level of ability.
The sessions are taking place at Northallerton Leisure Centre on Wednesday 11, 18 and 25 September, 6pm to 7pm for under 16s and 7pm to 8pm for 16 and over. £3 per person.
