A new guide promoting Stokesley as a ‘place to eat, shop and explore’ has been created.
The map produced and funded by Stokesley Town Council and Hambleton District Council’s Vibrant Market Towns initiative is freely available from the Town Hall and local shops and businesses.
“Our aim was to produce a high quality, well designed map which references the names of our town centre businesses including those tucked away in places such as 3 Tuns Wynd, Bridge Road and College Square,” said vice-chairman, Stokesley Town Council, Councillor Mike Canavan.
“We also wanted to highlight the River Leven as many visitors don’t realise what a lovely walk there is along Levenside.
“And we have even included practical information to signpost ATMs, parking, bus services, the Globe Library and our recently fully revamped public toilets.
“On the rear of the map we have provided a mine of information about Stokesley attractions and things to see and do around Stokesley.
“Our intention is to update and reprint further versions of the map every year to keep the information fresh and up to date.”
And Councillor Peter Wilkinson, deputy leader of Hambleton District Council and portfolio holder for Economic Development added: “It’s great to see the Vibrant Market Towns Team supporting projects that will bring more visitors to our market towns.”
Shops and businesses wanting to stock supplies of the map need to contact the Town Hall.
