Campaigners fighting changes at the Friarage Hospital will hold a public meeting this week to plan their next move.
The Save the Friarage Hospital group has taken legal advice about launching a judicial review over the replacement of the A&E with an urgent treatment centre.
The meeting on Friday will discuss ways of funding the legal action.
An online crowd funding appeal has been launched with the aim of raising £5,000.
More than £800 ha already been pledged to the cause.
Holly Wilkinson, the group’s founder, said: “We are having a call to arms so that anyone who has any ideas can come and share them.
“We are hoping to get sponsors for our crowd justice page. If a business wants to be a corporate sponsor it’s a minimum donation of £100 then the business receives a poster with our logo on it.”
The meeting will be held at 7pm on Friday at Northallerton Town Hall.
