A parish council in the south of the district is now the owner of a brand new website thanks to a council grant.

With the help of £1,100 from Hambleton District Council’s Making a Difference Fund, Topcliffe Parish Council has used the cash to help design a new modern website which is accessible via mobile devices to allow both residents and visitors to engage with the local community.

“The new site will benefit a wide range of people including young, elderly and infirm,” said Anne-Marie Barningham, chair of Topcliffe Parish Council.

“It will enable information to be uploaded in a timely manner to give people the opportunity to interact with others, access services and maintain contact with the local community.  Our local printed newsletter has also ceased and this has been a lifeline for many residents  so we are now looking to put in place an online alternative.

“We are also hoping to provide training to those unsure how to use the new site.”
