Motorists are facing delays on the A1(M) this morning after a fence panel blew onto the road.
The incident occurred on the northbound carriageway between junction 50 and junction 51.
Three lanes of the road have been closed while the debris is removed.
Diversions have been put in place for northbound traffic which is being diverted off at junction 50 and along the A6055.
Strong to gale force winds are forecast today, however they will ease in the afternoon.
A1M northbound is CLOSED J50 #Ripon to J51 #Leeming – Strong winds have made some fencing unsafe. Teams are in the area dealing now. Diversion is to exit at J50 and follow the #A6055 north to rejoin at J51.
