An internationally-renowned theatre company’s interactive workshop left Year 10 GCSE drama students at Stokesley School inspired and bursting with ideas for their future productions and exams.
The award-winning Frantic Assembly Theatre Company tours with productions across Great Britain and have worked in over 40 countries worldwide.
Steve Miller, from Frantic Assembly, engaged 25 students in a fast-paced, four-hour-long devising and physical theatre workshop.
Steve has enviable credentials. Having trained at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, he is best known for his role as Lenny Lyons in the long-running BBC drama Casualty.
His other TV credits include Holby City and The Bill, alongside theatre works such as Twelfth Night, Sunshine on Leith, Richard 11 and Paradise Lost.
Steve said: “Frantic Assembly deliver extensive learning and training programmes with a focus on devising theatre to give the students an appreciation of the way things work in a theatre company.
“It’s about giving them a relevant, hands-on experience which is outside of what they would usually explore.”
Frantic Assembly is studied as a leading contemporary theatre practitioner on five British exam programmes and is a recommended company on the Edexcel syllabus, which is studied at GCSE at Stokesley School.

“They have taken so much away from the session and will be able to apply their new-found knowledge and skills in future productions.”
