A total of 73 bags of rubbish were collected by an army of volunteers at the weekend.
Members of the Wombles of Hambleton group, which aims to help clean up local communities, visited Romanby on Sunday.
Around 60 volunteers took part in the litter pick, with people coming from as far away as Harrogate to help.
Organsier Claire said she was overwhelmed by the number of people giving up their time.
“The litter pick surpassed all my expectations as we had a record number of people attending and a record number of sacks filled in 90 minutes.
“It was amazing work by some amazing people.”
The group was helped by members of local community groups, including Romanby WI, Northallerton Air Cadets and Romanby Parish Council.
The Station pub in Romanby provided refreshments for the volunteers, while the litter pickers were supported by Hambleton District Council.
